johnabe is currently in the middle of his death march at work... no holidays until August, basically. So he asked me to go out and watch Poseidon with him tonight. To be quite honest, I didn't entirely want to see it, but I ended up really liking it. ^_^ I mean, it's not a brilliant movie or even vaguely realistic movie, but then again, I didn't expect it to be. I expected it to be a crappy movie with fun explosions and people dieing in dramatic ways and lots and lots and lots of water, and in this, the movie delivered. It's fun to see crappy big-budget action movies every once in while isn't it?

Anyway, there were two extra points of excitement, and I got pictures of both.

Excitement #1: Thank You for Not Smoking
At first glance, this appears to be just a normal "No Smoking" sign, but if you ask me, it's more than a little... odd.

Excitement #2: Take that, crane game!
As usual, before watching the movie, John and I hit the arcade and spent a couple hundred yen each trying to win random crap from various types of crane games. But unlike normal times, John won me a stuffed Winnie the Pooh!!!! We never expect to win anything, but when John went for one of the uber-cute Winnie the Poohs, his first try actually shifted the bear far enough that it was half-hanging off of the edge. A second try shifted it a little further, and a third try didn't pick it up, as much as knock it off of the shelf. Hurray!!! You go John!!!

I promised John I'd post a picture of the adorable little bear he won me so that we could commemorate his victory. ( Remember, this is Winnie the Pooh... )
